Abstract

The Middle Euphrates region is located within the central and western region of Iraq and includes the governorates of (Karbala, Najaf, Babil, Qadisiyah, and Muthanna). It is characterized by a dry climate. Therefore, water is of special importance in it, as it receives quantities of water and at the same time suffers from evaporation processes; Therefore, calculating the water balance is one of the important matters, because knowing or estimating the volume of surface and groundwater imports for any region depends on the quantitative relationship between precipitation and the amount of evaporation / transpiration to know the water surplus or water deficit, and is mainly affected by some climatic elements, especially the amounts of rain and temperatures Through which it is possible to know the amount of evaporation, the climatic data for the stations (Karbala, Babil, Najaf, Qadisiyah, Muthanna) covering the middle Euphrates region for the period (1990-2020) were adopted.
