Abstract
The study aims to know the role of the new media in boosting the process of democratic transition in Sudan, by identifying the reality of new media applications, the most important contents and topics they provide, the methods they use, the Sudanese public’s attitudes about them, knowing the targeted audience , and knowing the most important obstacles they face in order to boost the process Democratic transition in Sudan. to reach these goals the study asked a number of questions, and the most important one is: What is the role of the new media in the democratic transition process in Sudan?The descriptive analytical approach was used, and the study community consists of professors of the Universities of the Holly Qur’an and the University of Gezira, and the study sample is an intentional sample consisting of professors of the faculties of media and economics, in the University of the Holy Qur’an and the Tassel of Science and Al Gezira University, and its number was (80) individuals, and to collect information and data, the researcher used the questionnaire as a main tool and its analyzed using SPSS program:The most important results are : the result of the study affirmed that WhatsApp and blogs are among the most used new media . The results of the study showed also that the sample members’ attitudes towards new media, despite relying on it to convey news and information, but it works to fuel political conflict between all parties. The components of society, one of the most important recommendations are : The necessity of relying on all new media to achieve democratic transition , the study recommended the new media user to boost the positive sides and stop fueling the politics and tribal conflict but helping boosting democratic transition.
