Abstract
The research aims to study the geopolitical importance of Libya and its impact on its transformation into a region of regional and international conflict after the events of the Arab Spring in 2011. Libya is considered an important and strategical international and regional area, and this is evident from the number of countries that are interfering in the current conflict in Libya, which has reached dangerous stages and levels of complexity. And it foreshadowed a new and open international and regional conflict on Arab lands. Libya’s position constitutes an important and strategic role in the external intervention, which saw in Libya a great opportunity in the return of Western hegemony with the aim of acquiring the country’s oil wealth and gaining a foothold in the North African region.
