Abstract
Research objective to identify the degree of understanding of sustainable development issues for the student - teacher in the College of Education for Pure Sciences. Descriptive research methodology was adopted in this research and the research sample consisted of (116) students from the College of Education for Pure Sciences / Ibn Al Haytham - University Baghdad, from the Department of Chemistry (fourth stage), i.e. 54% of the research community were chosen randomly. The research tool was prepared, which consisted of examining sustainable development issues from (19) paragraphs. The results of the research showed a weak understanding of sustainable development issues in chemistry, and the statistical bag was adopted. For the Social Sciences (SPSS) to address the results of the research and in light of the results, the researcher recommends paying attention to the inclusion of sustainable development issues within the content of chemistry courses at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / Ibn Al-Haytham.
