Abstract
LAMPS are among the most important lighting devices, which have been widely used in homes, palaces and religious establishments. It also played an important role in highlighting the luxury of the building, as it is in the middle of the great halls and is often found in the middle of the dome It was one of the central lighting means due to its large size and multiplicity of its lights, and it was formed from copper metal, which is considered one of the most important minerals, as it is malleable and easy to form by pressing and hammering cold or hotThe Algerian society during the Ottoman era paid great attention to it, and used various forms, including lamps with stands, glass lamps, in addition to onions and pear-shaped ones, the latter resembling Mamluk lamps in shape and decoration.As it was distinguished by its rich decorative richness that filled all its space, represented by the floral, geometric and writing motifs, as well as the symbolic motifs, and it is noticeable for these decorations that most of them came openwork to reduce the weight of the masterpiece, allowing the passage of air that helps the lighting, as well as the penetration of light to these The decorations give the masterpiece and the lit place elegance and beauty.Through this research paper, we will try to shed light on these methods and compare them with their counterparts in the countries of the Levant, and how this model was transmitted from the countries of the Islamic East to Algeria in order to highlight the aspects of influence and influence.
