Abstract
The state seeks to protect itself from crime through multiple means, through the implementation of the law and criminal justice, and through a criminal policy aimed at deterring and preventing actions that are contrary to the social order. A distinction must be made between criminal policy and punitive policy, as criminal policy covers a broad field that encompasses... A group of measures that constitute solutions to reduce the phenomenon of crime at several levels, including those related to crime prevention, reform and reintegration of the offender, including those related to criminal responsibility and the principle of individualization of punishment, and criminal policy should not be confused with politics. Legislation, because this afterlife is nothing but the embodiment of the criminal policy that the legislator relies on to propose his amendments to the laws that the judicial authority in general ensures are implemented.
