Abstract

There are imaginary intellectual figures who had a great influence in shaping the movement of society. These figures must be studied to shed light on their influence, as they are starting points with an intellectual and political influence on society, and this is what actually happened. A character like Dr. Ali Shariati was able to leave his intellectual mark through directing novels and ideas. He used the events of Islamic history to address the problem of society by following an open-ended approach in which he called for the necessity of continuous change and advancement.
The question that is always asked: What is the benefit of the historical studies that we write? The view that was taken is that historical studies, especially in the specialty of Islamic history, are merely a means of obtaining a certificate because they are events that have passed and have ended. They are now of no use in our society, as they remain locked in library shelves without benefit from this research. Reforming society and addressing its problems. The approach followed in this study is the descriptive approach by presenting opinions on Shariati, who worked on employing historical events with their present characters and symbols to solve society’s problems. The best results we have achieved is that Shariati’s opinions came in the form of correct judgments, which, if it indicates anything, indicates that his reading of historical events was complete and impartial, taking some historical figures as a model for struggle and change by re-reading those figures and making them a unique model for all.
