Abstract
This research aims to identify honor crimes (washing shame) against women and their effects on Iraqi society from the writer's point of view in her narrative, and to identify the reasons that lead to the spread of this phenomenon in our Iraqi society as well as other societies. As well as the effects of violence against women washing the shame, and the effects of psychological and social effects. The study used the descriptive analytical approach, and the study made a set of recommendations, the most important of which is to pay attention to the psychological aspect of victims who have been subjected to violence (washing shame), as well as attention to the social aspect of the battered women, and to find solutions that suit their situation in order to mitigate these effects.
