Abstract

These crimes are considered the product of the technological and scientific development that served all of humanity. However, negative investment, therefore, resulted in many negatives that afflicted society, specifically the Iraqi one, as it moved from the time of closure before 2003 to openness to the world after that, and the resulting negative behaviors. Which harmed society, most notably the crimes of extortion in general, and the recent exploitation of technology through the crimes of electronic extortion.
Extortion is generally defined as when a person extorts the wrath of another for the purpose of what he has and in different ways, and the laws set the most severe penalties for him in order to preserve the tranquility of society. Explicitly and clearly, and its effects can be inferred in the criminalization of some acts that represent in themselves images of extortion or a means used by the blackmailer to obtain information about the victim. This is the result of the availability of its tools in the hands of most users on the one hand and the ignorance of others on the other hand, or the criminal model and its punishment may be disproportionate in a way that deters others from committing similar behavior that threatens the security of society.
