Abstract
Cambodian nationalist movement called the (Khmer Free Movement), founded in June 1945, appeared in Thailand by a number of Cambodians in exile, where it received support, equipment and training from Thailand, and declared its rejection of the French protectorate imposed on Cambodia, and began in 1946, waging a guerrilla war against the French, thus becoming a supporter of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Communist Party. The study aims to find out the extent of the influence of the Khmer group in the Kingdom of Cambodia, as the Khmer constitute the largest ethnic group in the history of Cambodia, and how they developed historically, as well as highlighting their most prominent personalities and beliefs, as well as focusing on the attempts of neighboring peoples and countries to exploit and consolidate their multiple cultures in the country, which resulted in bitter internal and external conflicts, which in turn took a long period of time to overcome the negative effects resulting from crises and wars, as it is necessary to turn the pages of the past and work To open new pages, the pillars of which are reconciliation and coexistence without the tendency towards destruction and the imposition of authority using various negative methods, The Khmer Rouge reign ended, after which the royal government of Cambodia.
