Cybercrime is one of the most serious crimes of our time that many countries around the world suffer from, especially with the rapid increase of technology development. This type of crimes resulted in the emergence of problems and negative implications which led most of the countries to enact legislations, regulations and laws to confront them. This study attempts to shed light on the role of anti-cybercrime law in confronting and preventing the negative issues in the Libyan society. The study adopts a descriptive analysis approach via the application of a survey i.e. questionnaire papers were distributed on lawyers from Ajdabiya Court of First Instance as the participants of the study. The study showed several significant results such as most participants of freelance lawyers and those who experienced 6 or more cases of cybercrimes ensured that the cybercrimes were of a special nature against individuals. Those crimes, according to them, were committed for personal reasons relating to the personality and psychological state of the offender. Also, the most spreading negative issues in society are (rumors and false news), and the Libyan anti-cybercrime law covers about 80% of negative issues relating to cybercrimes. One of the prominent challenges in the application of this law is that it has not been actually implemented yet due to the lack of specialized bodies in cyber field in addition to the lack of qualified personnel to deal with such cases.
