Abstract
Iraqi women face increasing climate challenges that directly affect their lives, including rising temperatures and scarcity of water resources, which hinders their ability to obtain clean water and negatively affects their health and the health of their families. Climate change also leads to the deterioration of agriculture, which threatens food security and increases the living burdens on women as they are responsible for securing their families' needs.
To adapt to these challenges, there is a need to improve water infrastructure by providing desalination systems and developing sustainable irrigation methods. Strengthening women's role in environmental decision-making and developing their capacities in agricultural and climate fields is also essential to achieve effective adaptation. Training and education can contribute to building women's skills to better face these challenges, helping them take practical steps to protect themselves and their families.
In short, adapting to climate challenges in Iraq requires joint efforts that include improving infrastructure, enhancing women's participation, and adopting sustainable agricultural practices to ensure a decent and stable life for Iraqi families in light of climate change.
