Abstract
Studying the history of Iraqi Jews and their relationship with the Zionist movement is crucial to understanding the social and political transformations that the region witnessed during the twentieth century. Iraqi Jews lived as an integral part of the Iraqi social fabric in relative coexistence with the rest of the population until the beginning of the twentieth century, when the Zionist movement began to play a pivotal role in changing this reality.
This research aims to explore the historical dynamics that influenced Iraqi Jews, tracing the beginnings of Zionist activity in Iraq and the impact of the British occupation. It also seeks to analyze how Iraqi Jews interacted with Zionism, both accepting and rejecting it, and the role colonial and Zionist policies played in reshaping their identity and status within and outside Iraqi society.
