Abstract
Iraqi society is among the (ethnic) societies with a diverse composition nationally, religiously, ethnically and ideologically, as it is religiously divided into Muslims, Christ, Jews, Sabians and Yazidis, doctrinally to Shiites and Sunnis and nationally to Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen, and the Arab and Kurdish nationalities are the main in the country, and Iraq has been since ancient times a model for peaceful coexistence among its components, but Iraqi society has been exposed to many external and internal factors that affected its security and societal peace, including: The occupation by the United States in 2003 was followed by a clear deterioration of social and political values and the consecration of the concepts of quotas and sectarianism instead of legal and human rights considerations and the division of its components, which reflected negatively on the achievement of societal peace, which makes building good citizenship an inevitable necessity in order to build a healthy society in solidarity among its members regardless of narrow affiliations (national, religious and... Accordingly, our current research aims to shed light on the concept of good citizenship, its elements, principles, components and mechanisms of activation, as state-building requires.
