Abstract
The topic of talking about the journeys undertaken by travelers throughout the ages has received significant attention from them, especially those documented in their writings. From this documentation emerged what came to be known as literature, a prominent literary genre that expressses journeys in an elegant literary style , conveying the spirituality of emotions and observations – particulariy in places of religious significance, such as the shrines of the lmams ( peace be uopn them), their children, and descendants in various parts of the word , as well as in areas rich in historical landmarts and deep- rooted cultural heritage .Travel books are considered important historical sources and are often regarded as akin to official documents, because the traveler-writer conveys what he sees of landmarks and sometimes related to the civilization of those of these countries and at other times to their cultural and social heritage . Iraq and its cities, with their immense civilizational legacy ,have always drawn the attention of for researchers, academics and visitors.Baghdad in particular, is one of the important cities that has embraced within its arms two shrines of the Imams of the Household of the Prophet (peace be upon them), namely the shrine of Imam Musa bin Jaafar (peace be upon him)and the shrine of Imam Muhammad bin Ali al-Jawad (peace be upon him). These have become key factors in attracting tourists, visitors, travelers- both Arabs and foreign and, Among the travelers honored to visit Baghdad and explore its landmarks was Mirza Saif al-Dawla, who visited the city in 1863 AD. This research will delve into documenting the information and events he recorded in the areas he visited and observed.
