Abstract
After the spread of the use of smart devices and their applications by children and minors, it is necessary to provide full awareness to this group about the dangers of using them in a bad way or sharing their information with others, which may expose them to blackmail and threats. Therefore, we decided to address this part in a research that includes the concept of electronic blackmail and the dangers of sharing the secret number with friends. Parents must also educate and contain children. After dividing the research into two sections, we addressed in the first section the concept of electronic blackmail through its definition, methods of blackmail and its stages. We devoted the second section to clarifying the mechanism for protecting children and minors from electronic blackmail by clarifying the crime of electronic threat, where blackmail is done by threatening the victim, terrorizing him and forcing him to do things he does not want to do. If the elements of this crime are met, it is possible to resort to complaining about the perpetrator and imprisoning him.
