Abstract
Objectives: The current research seeks to achieve the objectives of evaluating the discussion method in teaching dictation from the point of view of supervisors. It is to identify the suitability of the discussion method in teaching dictation for the intermediate stage, and to reveal the comprehensive quality standards for the discussion method in teaching dictation for the intermediate stage from the point of view of supervisors.
Methodology: The descriptive approach was used to suit the objectives of the study. A scale was built to evaluate methods of teaching dictation, and validity and reliability were verified. The scale was classified into seven axes: the axis of achieving the principle of participation, which consists of (5) paragraphs, the axis of achieving goals, which consists of (3) paragraphs, and the axis of flexibility. It consists of (3) paragraphs and an axis of comprehensiveness. It consists of (5) paragraphs and an axis of importance. It consists of (7) paragraphs and an axis of accuracy and clarity. It consists of (4) paragraphs and a continuous and developing axis. It consists of (6) paragraphs.
Results: The study found a good level of evaluation of the discussion method in teaching dictation, as the arithmetic mean for the accuracy and clarity axis reached (4.35) and a percentage weight of (85.5), the goal achievement axis with a weighted mean (4.35) and a percentage weight of (85.5), and the continuous and developed axis with a weighted mean (4.46). Percentage weight (82.16), comprehensive axis (4.05), percentage weight (80.6), importance axis with a weighted mean (3.98), percentage weight (79.4), and the principle of participation axis with a weighted mean (3.95) and percentage weight (78.6). The results showed the existence of comprehensive quality standards for the discussion method. In teaching dictation.
Research limits: Objective limits: Evaluating the method of discussion in teaching dictation, and revealing comprehensive quality standards in it, human limits, Arabic language supervisors for secondary specialization, spatial limits, specialist supervision department in the central and southern governorates of Iraq, temporal limits, first semester of the academic year 2023- 2024.
