Abstract
The research aims to identify the level of linguistic awareness among fifth grade science students in the subject of Arabic language. The researcher used the descriptive method, and to achieve the aim of the research, the researcher uses a language awareness tests which include 30 test items of three types of linguistic awareness: morphological awareness, grammatical awareness, and semantic awareness. The test items were distributed among the types of linguistic awareness, and the test consists of (20) items of the type of objective tests (multiple choice, and (10) items of essay questions. The research includes students of Diwaniyah City. The research sample consisted of (100) students have been selected in the random method. Verification of reliability, stability and applicability has been made at the end of the test. The results showed that language awareness is present but in low levels, and all individuals can possess language awareness skills if the appropriate capabilities.
